Poster/cover art inspired by Ben Jonson’s play Volpone.

It’s all about the foxes.

Loki Fox Fan Art.

My Marvel guru tells me I have been inspired by Jack Kirby’s geometric stylings. There’s so many versions of Loki, I chucked in some bits I thought were most iconic.

The top one is my attempt at putting my two favourite tricksters, Reynard and Loki, together. The two foxes together put me in mind of the Moon card in the Ryder Waite tarot so I filled in a bit of relevant scenery.

In the bottom one, I fancied having a go at colouring with watercolours rather than pencils (like a proper grown-up ;) ) and laid off the heavy black ink. Not a very good quality photo, the top one was scanned by a friend.

(Disclaimer: this Loki owned by Marvel, Reynard is a character from traditional medieval beast fables, although a Reynard did appear in Fables, owned by DC.)

Earth’s mightiest foxes. Very random Avenger’s fan art for my friend’s birthday card. Please don’t reblog, link with credit.

Loki is next.

I started making historical finger puppets and then it all went a bit mythological/Harryhausen, My son has put in an order for the entirety of history.

Another thing for the summer fayre. He looks displeased. I’m amused by him.

Some bits I’ve been making for a stall at a summer fayre I’m going to.

Here is a sign/banner for the theatre troupe that I will be performing Reynard the Fox with. I was aiming for bright, summery colours. The fox is appliqued on by hand and the text is painted with acrylic. With matching bunting :-)

I went for a friendly sort of heraldic fox as the more traditional ones are a bit snouty and wolfish. I thought this would appeal more to children.
